Position Overview:

The Production Engineering Specialist will execute engineering tasks by applying fundamental engineering principles while adhering to established procedures, standards, and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with contract technical specifications while developing and maintaining detailed process plans for the manufacturing of Control Rod Drive Mechanisms.
  • Oversee manufacturing operations and implement enhancements to guarantee processes are safe, uphold high quality, and are executed efficiently to meet delivery and cost objectives.
  • Create SAP routings based on comprehensive process plans.
  • Develop CAD drawings that illustrate detailed process plans, including process fixturing, tooling, and setup instructions.
  • Design, develop, test/source, and justify the costs of various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing techniques.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, customers, and vendors to address challenges encountered during the manufacturing process.
  • Propose, support, and engage in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing safety, quality, delivery, or cost.
  • Participate in R&D projects by providing technical support to ensure that prototype hardware adheres to guidelines.
  • Assist in the technical training of new personnel.
  • Occasional business travel may be necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
  • Entry-level to Senior candidates will be considered, with salary commensurate with experience. Professional Engineer designation is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines in support of manufacturing production hardware.
  • A positive attitude and high energy.
  • Preferred background in manufacturing/machining.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, SAP, TopSolid, Siemens NX, Vericut, and Crash Guard Studio is preferred.
  • NC programming capability is a plus.

Compensation:
The base salary range for this position is competitive and will be determined based on local job market factors, as well as the selected candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. The total compensation package may also include additional elements such as an annual cash incentive and a comprehensive range of medical, retirement, and other benefits.
