This is a high-level leadership position within the New York City Department of Education, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer for Policy and Evaluation. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the department's policy and evaluation initiatives, working closely with senior stakeholders across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Policy Development and Implementation: Develop and implement policies and procedures to support the department's goals and objectives, working closely with senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Chief Executive Officer and other senior leaders to develop and implement strategic plans to achieve departmental goals.
- Leadership and Management: Provide leadership and management to a team of professionals, including directors, managers, and analysts, to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain effective relationships with senior stakeholders, including the Chancellor's Office, the UFT, and the CSA, to ensure successful implementation of departmental initiatives.
- Program Evaluation and Research: Develop and implement evaluation and research strategies to assess the effectiveness of departmental programs and initiatives.
- Education: Master's degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business, or public administration, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 10 years of leadership experience in education administration and policy, with a strong track record of success in developing and implementing policies and programs.
- Skills: Strong analytical and project management skills, with the ability to lead and manage complex projects and teams. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Leadership Experience: Experience in leading and managing large teams and complex projects, with a strong track record of success in developing and implementing policies and programs.
- Policy Experience: Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures, with a strong understanding of education policy and reform.
- Research and Evaluation Experience: Experience in developing and implementing evaluation and research strategies, with a strong understanding of research methods and statistical analysis.
