Theater Operations Coordinator

Overview:

As a professional in defense missions, you possess the ability to inquire about aspects that others may overlook. We seek a specialist like you to devise strategies for missions that safeguard our nation.

This position plays a crucial role in the U.S. Army's initiative to establish a consistent forward presence in the theater. You will support a Department of Defense client in enhancing and executing a thorough theater movement and operational strategy for a geographically dispersed workforce, functioning in a non-standard, overseas location, within a collaborative framework, on a rotational basis. Your responsibilities will include providing diverse levels of assistance to customer support, process enhancement, and operational management as a Theater Operations Manager for U.S. service members arriving and departing the area. You will ensure exceptional support for teams, systems, programs, and equipment to facilitate their daily operations. Your role will encompass a broad range of administrative and office support activities for the department and leadership to ensure well-organized operations in support of regional security assistance and cooperation initiatives. You will oversee the implementation of current movement and contingency plans, daily operations, and evaluate outcomes from security assistance engagements. You will establish movement operating protocols, conduct in-country coordination for facilities and support, liaise with forward entities, and assist with crisis-action responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in developing and sustaining client or in-country relationships, security assistance, and cooperation.
  • 2+ years of experience serving as a liaison between the Operations team and other organizational teams, including leadership and U.S. Government entities.
  • Familiarity with operational improvement strategies.
  • Capacity to adapt, demonstrate initiative, innovate, and transform vague challenges into actionable inquiries for which practical solutions can be identified.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced international environment with culturally diverse groups.
  • Competence in preparing and modifying documents, including correspondence, drafts, and emails.
  • Skill in maintaining both electronic and physical filing systems.
  • Proficiency in installing, configuring, and operating workstation, telephony, video, and mobile hardware and software, including established communication methods as required.
  • Secret clearance.
  • High school diploma with 10+ years of experience in operations support management or a Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of experience in operations support management.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in crafting well-articulated communications for various business stakeholders, including employees, clients, and partners.
  • Experience collaborating with in-country experts and leadership while keeping the executive team informed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Aptitude for collecting and analyzing data to identify trends, diagnose issues, and develop solutions.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies, systems, solutions, and procedures while identifying opportunities for enhancing support processes.
  • Capability to efficiently resolve escalated team and member issues within policy guidelines.
  • Possession of strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possession of excellent interpersonal skills.

Clearance Requirements:

Applicants selected will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information; a Secret clearance is mandatory.
