We provide comprehensive programs that focus on building human assets and fostering self-sufficiency. As a Case Manager on our team, you will play an integral role in helping refugees, asylees, Cuban border crossers, Special Immigrant Visa holders, and victims of human trafficking gain access to a wide range of social support services with the goal of becoming self-sufficient.
Responsibilities:- Assess clients' needs in relation to the resettlement program
- Work with clients to establish individualized service plans
- Complete applications for SNAP/Medicaid and refer clients to the Refugee Medical Assistance Program
- Ensure timely provision of core services
- Provide translation, transportation, and interpretation as needed
- Assist with initial Community Orientation
- Develop self-sufficiency plans
- Provide referrals and verify attendance to English as a Second Language classes
- Offer guidance and emergency services for clients in crisis
- Enroll children in school
- Prepare and submit reports as required by the Program Coordinator
- Maintain Case Files and enter applicable information into the YMCA database, Refugee Management System (RMS)
- Receive clients at the airport and transport them to client apartments as assigned
- Report suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations
- Follow mandated abuse and incident reporting requirements
- Meet timelines and deadlines related to supporting systems and employee compliance
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Fluency in Dari/Pashto required
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Excellent customer service skills; conflict resolution skills preferred
- Previous work with diverse populations strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in a field related to social services and/or relevant professional experience
- Very good organizational, effective time, and resource management skills
- Valid driver's license, exceptional driving record, automobile liability insurance, and a vehicle
