Job Summary

The CA Conservation Corps is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Stewardship Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our conservation team, you will be responsible for leading and managing conservation-related projects, training and mentoring young adults, and ensuring the success of our environmental initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management
    • Develop and implement conservation projects, including project planning, coordination, and execution.
    • Collaborate with team members to ensure project goals and objectives are met.
    • Monitor and evaluate project progress, making adjustments as needed.
  • Training and Development
    • Design and deliver training programs for young adults, focusing on conservation practices, teamwork, and leadership skills.
    • Provide coaching and mentoring to Corpsmembers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Team Leadership
    • Supervise and manage a team of young adults, providing guidance and support to ensure project success.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive team environment, promoting open communication and collaboration.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Manage project records, reports, and data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
    • Assist with procurement, logistics, and administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, conservation, or a related field.
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in conservation project management, training, and team leadership.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Proven track record of successful project management and team leadership.
    • Excellent communication, coaching, and mentoring skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Working Environment

  • Work in a dynamic and fast-paced conservation environment.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of professionals, including young adults, staff, and partners.
  • Travel to project sites, including remote areas and urban settings, as needed.
