Position Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Project Accountant with a strong emphasis on Work in Progress (WIP) and Percentage Completion Accounting. This position is vital for the financial oversight and success of our engineering projects, where you will manage the financial aspects and ensure the profitability of multiple projects.

You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and various stakeholders, providing them with precise and timely financial data to support their decision-making processes.

This role is ideal for individuals who excel in a fast-paced, dynamic setting and are eager to contribute significantly to the success of our projects.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and evaluate the financial performance of various engineering projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Execute Work in Progress (WIP) and Percentage Completion Accounting, ensuring accurate and timely revenue and cost recognition.
  • Work in partnership with project managers and stakeholders, delivering precise financial information and aiding in their decision-making.
  • Analyze variances between actual results and budget/forecast, providing insightful commentary on causes and implications.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards and company policies.
  • Engage in the continuous enhancement of project accounting processes and systems, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting, ideally within the engineering or construction sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience with Work in Progress (WIP) and Percentage Completion Accounting.
  • Strong grasp of accounting principles and financial reporting in a project-based context.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities, capable of interpreting complex financial data and offering valuable insights.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Self-driven, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to ongoing learning and improvement.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CGA, or equivalent) is preferred but not mandatory.
