Job Description:
Environmental Finance is actively seeking a qualified candidate to become part of our expanding team of environmental finance experts as a Project Manager (PM).

The PM will be responsible for overseeing the underwriting, structuring, negotiation, and closure of complex renewable energy loans and related products, primarily focused on solar, wind, and battery storage systems.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Engage in the preliminary assessment of potential loans, intricate deal structures, programs, and partnerships.
2. Collaborate with and manage external professionals, including legal advisors, accountants, consultants, and engineers.

3. Analyze complex legal documents related to structured credit arrangements, working alongside counsel and business partners to negotiate and mitigate risks on behalf of U.S. Bank.

4. Review and evaluate financial models, identifying and addressing underwriting, cash flow, and accounting risks.
5. Assess all necessary third-party reports to support financing requests, ensuring timely delivery and addressing any issues with vendors as needed.

6. Lead the creation of high-quality underwriting packages that detail the strengths, weaknesses, risks, and mitigating factors associated with proposed debt financings.

7. Coordinate with internal teams to facilitate underwriting, credit approval, and loan closure.
8. Ensure transactions are closed in accordance with bank policies while managing customer expectations and timelines.
9. Assist in managing an existing portfolio of assets and serve as a resource within the team.
10. Participate in special projects, including the development and revision of internal policies and procedures.
11. Ensure compliance with the U.S. Bank Code of Ethics and all relevant regulations, including Anti-Money Laundering and Bank Secrecy Act policies.
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and six or more years of relevant experience, or an MBA/JD with three or more years of directly related experience.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Advanced knowledge of financial modeling techniques and analysis of proforma financial statements.

- Proficient in credit underwriting and financial analysis, with strong cash flow analysis skills for complex, structured transactions.

- Understanding of intricate project finance transactions, loan documentation, and deal structure mechanics.

- Familiarity with key aspects of renewable energy project underwriting, including equipment and performance reviews, as well as a foundational understanding of U.S. energy markets.

- Ability to synthesize large volumes of deal-related documentation and materials to produce clear and concise underwriting packages.

- Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and innovation in managing timelines and addressing key issues.

- Excellent time management skills and the ability to effectively manage client expectations.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail and a growth mindset, comfortable in dynamic environments.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Capacity to lead projects and mentor junior staff.

Location Expectations:
This role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, requiring in-office attendance for three or more days per week, with the option to work remotely on other days.
