College/Department Information

The Medical College of Georgia ranks among the largest medical schools in the nation, accommodating 260 students per class.

The educational framework is supported by the main campus in Augusta, complemented by regional clinical campuses for upper-level students statewide, and a collaborative four-year campus in Athens with the University of Georgia.

MCG's extensive partnerships with healthcare providers across Georgia facilitate approximately 350 clinical sites, offering students exposure to a comprehensive range of medical practices.

Additionally, MCG and its affiliated hospitals provide postgraduate training for over 500 residents and fellows across 50 accredited programs.

Our research and clinical focus addresses critical health issues affecting Georgia's population, including cardiovascular health, cancer, neuroscience, behavioral sciences, public health, regenerative medicine, personalized medicine, and genomics.

Our physician faculty also extend their expertise to around 100 clinics and hospitals throughout the state.


Job Summary
The role involves providing administrative support within the Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior. The selected candidate will assist Psychology Faculty, supervise Psychology Interns, and offer backup support to administrative staff as necessary. Furthermore, this position will facilitate the Psychology training program.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
Deliver psychotherapy services in an outpatient context specifically for women.

Oversee interns and group therapy sessions, coordinating activities among students, graduate assistants, and other research personnel involved in research initiatives.

Prepare articles for publication in scientific journals and review submissions prepared by others. Undertake additional related duties as assigned.



Required Qualifications
Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) from an accredited institution.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Proficiency in maintaining confidentiality. Ability to manage workload and adhere to deadlines. Willingness to engage with research animals. Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision. Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and prioritization abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software/databases, or willingness to learn.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift:
Days: Mon-Fri
*Work outside of standard business hours may be required.*
Salary will be commensurate with the qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) for the position.

Conditions of Employment
All selected candidates must successfully pass a background check prior to commencing employment with Augusta University.

For positions requiring specific duties, candidates may also need to undergo a credit check for Positions of Trust or approved departmental Purchase Card usage.

The primary work location for this position is within the Augusta University Medical Center or other affiliated clinic spaces, adhering to the guidelines set forth by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

The selected candidate will be required to provide proof of COVID vaccination or an approved exemption.
