Job Summary

The InsideHigherEd team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to support and advance a culture of organizational well-being within the Department of Surgery. The Department Well-Being Director will report to the Chair of the Department of Surgery and the Director of Organizational Well-Being in the Office of Organizational Well-Being. This faculty appointment will focus on opportunities to support the professional development and leadership effectiveness of faculty and providers within the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote a culture of well-being and resilience within the department
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to faculty and providers to enhance their leadership and professional development
  • Collaborate with departmental leaders to identify and address organizational well-being challenges and opportunities
  • Design and deliver training programs and workshops on topics related to well-being and leadership
  • Conduct needs assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of well-being initiatives
Requirements
  • M.D., Master's Degree or PhD in a relevant field (e.g., organizational psychology, leadership development, organizational development)
  • At least five years' experience in coaching, organizational improvement, learning and development, or similar
  • Completion of coach training. Credential coach preferred.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare environment. Experience in surgical field preferred.
  • Demonstrated and established reputation for integrity, discretion, honesty, and good judgment
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least five years' experience in coaching, organizational improvement, learning and development, or similar
  • Completion of coach training. Credential coach preferred.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare environment. Experience in surgical field preferred.
  • Demonstrated and established reputation for integrity, discretion, honesty, and good judgment
