Job Summary

The InsideHigherEd team is seeking a highly skilled professional to support and advance a culture of organizational well-being within the Department of Surgery. The Department Well-Being Director will report to the Chair of the Department of Surgery and the Director of Organizational Well-Being in the Office of Organizational Well-Being. This faculty appointment will focus on opportunities to support the professional development and leadership effectiveness of faculty and providers within the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote a culture of well-being within the Department of Surgery
  • Provide coaching and training to faculty and providers on leadership development and organizational improvement
  • Collaborate with departmental leaders to identify and address organizational challenges and opportunities
  • Conduct needs assessments and develop programs to support the well-being of faculty and providers
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of well-being initiatives and make recommendations for improvement
Requirements
  • M.D., Master's Degree or PhD in a relevant field (e.g., organizational psychology, leadership development, organizational development)
  • At least five years' experience in coaching, organizational improvement, learning and development, or similar
  • Completion of coach training. Credential coach preferred
  • Prior experience in a healthcare environment. Experience in surgical field preferred
  • Demonstrated and established reputation for integrity, discretion, honesty, and good judgment
