Job Summary

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Kentucky is seeking a highly qualified surgical pathologist to serve as the Director of Surgical Pathology. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned pathologist with administrative experience to lead a team of 24 surgical pathologists and provide clinical subspecialty services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative leadership as the Director of Surgical Pathology and section director for the histology and surgical pathology laboratories.
  • Provide clinical subspecialty surgical pathology services.
  • Teach students and residents in the classroom and clinical settings.
  • Participate in scholarly initiatives of the Department and the College of Medicine.
Requirements
  • MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
  • Fellowship training in surgical pathology.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a complex and busy surgical pathology laboratory.
  • Strong leadership capacity and ability to become a senior department leader.
