Job Summary

: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager, Transmission to join our team at Eversource Energy. This is a critical role that requires a strong background in project management, with a focus on transmission projects.

Key Responsibilities

:
  1. Manage traditional projects requiring close stakeholder interaction, such as large substation construction projects, new transmission line projects, and major transmission facility expansion projects.
  2. Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets, and ensure timely completion of projects within established budget.
  3. Work closely with Eversource Energy Delivery personnel, Legal, Regulatory Relations, Purchasing, Communications, and all Transmission Business functions to ensure project success.
  4. Integrate and manage cross-functional project teams to develop project roles and responsibilities.
  5. Manage the planning, engineering, siting/permitting, procurement, construction, commissioning, and close-out project phases.
  6. Develop and implement change control methodologies and manage project change control management processes.
  7. Coordinate the development of detailed project budgets and cash flow.
  8. Manage the monthly maintenance and reporting of project scope, budgets, and schedules.
  9. Develop and implement comprehensive siting and permitting needs assessments.
  10. Manage the development and participation in required regulatory siting, permit filings, and other regulatory filings.
  11. Coordinate environmental assessments and necessary regulatory approvals (federal, state, and local) needed to begin construction.
  12. Ensure timely preparation of ISO-NE project submittals.
  13. Manage the development and evaluation of bid documents for engineering, design, construction, and test procurement of material and support systems.
  14. Manage the development of required outage and energization plans.
  15. Manage project close-out in a timely manner to support corporate business goals.
  16. Provide clear, concise, and comprehensive reports for management.
  17. High-level independent management of projects, capable of successfully managing projects from initiation to close-out on time and within budget.
  18. Provide guidance to less-experienced project management personnel.
  19. Takes a leadership role within the organization on group initiatives and process development.
  20. Prepares corporate testimony, such as written responses for local, state, or federal regulatory proceedings.

:
  1. Demonstrated ability to investigate and solve problems, analyze data, write reports, and make presentations.
  2. Possesses the ability to cope with deadlines, manage time, set priorities, define roles and responsibilities, and make decisions.
  3. Ability to run meetings, motivate others, and interact with others at all levels of the organization.
  4. The ability to schedule, plan, and manage numerous complex transmission projects concurrently.
  5. Self-starter with strong communication skills, including listening, speaking, and writing skills.
  6. Individual leadership abilities, planning skills, decisiveness, and customer focus.
  7. Knowledge of Project Management principles and practices.
  8. Excellent leadership, team-building, coaching, problem-solving, interpersonal, and motivational skills required.
  9. Ability to develop skills to prepare presentations and expert witness testimony for local and state regulatory presentations.
  10. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferred) or bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or the equivalent degree will be considered or equivalent experience.
  11. Master's Degree is preferred; Project Management class work is desirable.
  12. Ten (10) years of related experience; to include at least three (3) years of Project Management experience.
  13. Experience in the Construction of Transmission Lines is highly desirable.

  2. The salary range for this position starts at $135,000 and the market rate is $150,000, plus incentive.

Working Conditions

:
  1. Must be available to work emergency restoration assignments as required.
  2. Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
  3. Work is performed primarily in an office environment which requires sitting, standing, and general movement throughout the office area.
  4. Limited travel will be required between office, project sites, and stakeholder locations.
  5. Work will require visiting field construction sites including high voltage substations and utility Rights-of-Way.
  6. Attends to problems in off-hours and for extended periods, if necessary. Will also be assigned a storm/incident response role.
