Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively with nursing departments, clinical dieticians, and other personnel to ensure seamless patient services.
  • Introduce the "Catering to You" program to new patients, following scripted methods to ensure a positive experience.
  • Take patient menu selections prior to meals and offer alternatives to menu items as allowed on prescribed diets, considering food allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences.
  • Assemble trays according to patient menu on tray tickets and retrieve trays from patients' rooms.
  • Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO requirements.
  • Adhere to facility confidentiality and patient's rights policy as outlined in the facility's HIPAA policies and procedures.
  • Follow Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines when handling food, cleaning work stations, and breaking down patient tray lines.
  • Follow facility and department infection control policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
