Position Summary:
A General Assembler is responsible for the installation and assembly of parts and materials following both written and verbal instructions.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Execute installations and assemble components according to detailed work instructions, schematics, and verbal guidance.
2. Clean, assemble, disassemble, and replace parts as necessary.
3. Maintain a tidy and safe workspace while optimizing the use of available space.
4. Collaborate and communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
5. Operate and care for shop equipment.
6. Adhere to quality service standards and comply with established procedures, rules, and regulations.
7. Keep the production supervisor informed about work status, workload, challenges, and progress related to assignments.
8. Perform additional related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in reading and basic mathematics; ability to comprehend verbal and written instructions.
- Capability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, shop tools, equipment, and measuring instruments.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and procedures; experience with machinery and forklifts is preferred.
- Previous experience in manufacturing and/or automotive fields is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel if necessary.
- Commitment to attending educational training and classes.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing.
- Must be able to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and crawl.
- Frequent use of hand tools and materials, which may involve repetitive motion.
- Regularly lift and move up to 10 lbs; frequently lift and move up to 30 lbs; occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to see and adjust visual focus at various distances; position requires peripheral vision, depth perception, and color distinction.

Work Environment:
- Exposure to high noise levels.
- Machinery operation necessitates the use of safety equipment, including but not limited to eye protection, hearing protection, work boots, and hard hats.
- May require outdoor work.
- Loose clothing and jewelry are not permitted.

Education & Training:
Qualified candidates will receive on-the-job training and will be required to attend educational and training classes at BridgeValley Community & Technical College.

Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation for this position will range from $18 to $20 per hour. Qualified candidates will be compensated for a 40-hour work week, working four 10-hour shifts while attending classes at BridgeValley on designated days.
