Position Summary

The Electrical Assembler is responsible for executing assembly and installation tasks for parts and materials according to work instructions and verbal guidance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and install drive train, mechanical, and chassis components in accordance with specified work instructions.
  • Possess knowledge of truck air systems, including airline routing, air bags, brake valves, and leveling valves.
  • Adhere to both verbal and written directives for task completion.
  • Verify the proper functioning of all assembled components and systems.
  • Diagnose issues and implement corrective actions as necessary due to engineering or design challenges.
  • Engage in self-inspection throughout the work shift, analyzing processes and suggesting improvements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace while optimizing the use of available space.
  • Collaborate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
  • Operate and perform preventive maintenance on warehouse vehicles and equipment.
  • Comply with quality service standards and adhere to established procedures, rules, and regulations.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in electronics or electrical work.
  • Basic skills in reading, writing, and mathematics; ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions.
  • Proficient in using basic hand, air, and battery-powered tools, as well as voltmeters and other equipment.
  • Competent in utilizing measuring devices to ensure compliance with required tolerances.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and wiring schematics.
  • Capable of adhering to quality service standards and following established procedures.
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to process changes and implement them effectively.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Manufacturing and/or automotive experience is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and crawl.
  • Regularly lift and move up to 10 lbs.; frequently lift and move up to 30 lbs.; occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to see and adjust visual focus for both near and far distances; position requires peripheral vision, depth perception, and color distinction.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
Work Environment
  • Exposure to high noise levels.
  • Operation of machinery requires the use of safety equipment, including eye protection, hearing protection, work boots, and hard hats.
  • Loose clothing and jewelry are not permitted.
  • Position may involve operating a motor vehicle and working outdoors.

Education & Training:

Qualified candidates will receive on-the-job training and will be required to attend educational and training classes at BridgeValley Community & Technical College.

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation for this position will range from $18 to $20 per hour. Qualified candidates will generally work a 40-hour work week, consisting of four 10-hour shifts. GreenPower offers benefits including health, dental, vision, and prescription drug plans, flexible benefits, a 401(K) retirement savings plan, life and disability benefits, paid holidays, paid vacation, and tuition reimbursement.
