Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Program Quality Engineer to join our team at Raytheon Technologies. As a key member of our Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) team, you will be responsible for promoting and executing quality assurance practices, knowledge sharing, and collaboration to ensure the effective implementation of Quality and Mission Assurance requirements of our programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic and tactical Mission Assurance plans to closely affect the programs' implementation and influence.
  • Assure inclusion of quality requirements, planning, and consistency for program proposals and subsequent management of the quality budget.
  • Monitor and lead root cause corrective action (RCCA) activities for systemic issues and to ensure extensive RCCA.
  • Generate new Cost of Quality (CoQ), CORE (Customer Oriented Result and Excellence), CoPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) projects to reduce costs on the program.
  • Support issue resolutions and solutions to production and Radar execution.
  • Experience in MRB (Material Review Board) disposition for variances to waive or deviate to requirements including RCCA and technical rationale.
Requirements
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) years engineering experience.
  • Working experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • Working experience with performance to cost, schedule, and technical performance including Cost Accounting Methodologies (Earned Value).
  • Working experience in providing technical program support for manufacturing and/or design processes.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Six Sigma, Lean, CORE, or American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification.
  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) certification.
  • Experience with Integrated Product Development System (IPDS) or similar gate management process.
  • Experience in other functional area such as engineering, supplier engineering, or operations.
  • Experience establishing cost estimates and Basis of Estimates (BOEs).
  • Effective verbal and written communication and networking skills to work with upper management and customers.
  • Hands-on experience in solving both business and technical problems.
  • Passionate, high-energy, self-starting team player who achieves goals and strives for continuous improvement.
  • Possess an in-depth understanding of contract flow and compliance.
