Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Program Quality Engineer to join our team at Raytheon Technologies. As a key member of our Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) team, you will be responsible for promoting and executing a strong quality mindset, practices, knowledge sharing, and collaboration to ensure the effective implementation of Quality and Mission Assurance requirements of our programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the implementation of Mission Area strategic quality improvements across contracts
  • Interface with U.S. Government Customers, Foreign Customers, Suppliers, and our internal Raytheon Quality team
  • Develop and implement strategic and tactical Mission Assurance plans that will closely affect the programs' implementation and influence
  • Responsible for quality of delivered products and services to our customers, stakeholders of quality risks, uncertainties and opportunities, key team members in resolution of customer expectations and relationships related to Mission Assurance and Quality
  • Assure inclusion of quality requirements, planning, and consistency for program proposals and subsequent management of the quality budget
  • Monitor / lead root cause corrective action (RCCA) activities for systemic issues and to ensure extensive RCCA
  • Generation of new Cost of Quality (CoQ), CORE (Customer Oriented Result and Excellence), CoPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) projects to reduce costs on the program
Requirements
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
  • Working experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems
  • Working experience with performance to cost, schedule, and technical performance including Cost Accounting Methodologies (Earned Value)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Six Sigma, Lean, CORE, or American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification
  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) certification
  • Experience with Integrated Product Development System (IPDS) or similar gate management process
  • Experience in other functional area such as engineering, supplier engineering, or operations
