Event Coordinator

This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a series of events in support of the Museum mission. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with the public, great customer service skills, and experience in office administration, budgeting, and event planning.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate, and execute events, including small, large, recurring, and annual events.
- Collaborate with other organizations for on-site educational events and programs.
- Coordinate Museum volunteers in support of Museum operations.
- Create budget for events, indicating income and expenses, and identify potential funding sources.
- Keep track of income from vendors and maintain relationships with event vendors.
- Conduct outreach activities at promotional events statewide in support of the museum.
- Associates Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or Accounting, and two years of directly related job experience.

Employment is subject to a pre-employment background investigation and is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License.
Working ConditionsWork is performed in an office setting with sitting and extensive use of computer and telephone, occasional after-hours and weekends presence required on-site at events, outreach, and in-state travel.
