A Typical Day:

As a Delegated Authorizing Official (DAO) Representative (Level 3), your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting security planning, assessments, risk analysis, and management support activities.
  • Performing risk evaluations to facilitate the integration of legacy systems into the current IT landscape.
  • Reviewing and assessing the cybersecurity measures incorporated into systems designated for operational deployment.
  • Preparing risk assessments, action plans, authorization recommendations, and associated security documentation.
  • Identifying and supporting overarching security requirements to protect data and ensure compliance with information security policies and controls.
  • Ensuring that cybersecurity functions are integrated into the development and risk management processes, particularly focusing on infrastructure protection and defensive IT strategies.
  • Facilitating collaboration with clients, IT personnel, and senior corporate leaders to define and achieve necessary risk management objectives.
  • Supporting the integration of legacy systems within the respective IT environment.

Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph Clearance is mandatory.
  • Compliance with DoD M with a minimum certification of IAM Level III is essential.
  • A minimum of eight years of experience in roles such as IT Risk Assessor, System Security Engineer, Information Systems Security Manager, or DAO in programs of similar scope and complexity is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT Engineering is required; alternatively, an additional four years of experience may substitute for the degree, totaling 12 years.
  • Proficiency in the following areas is necessary: system security design processes; defense-in-depth strategies; engineering life cycles; information domains; cross-domain solutions; controlled interfaces; identification, authentication, and authorization; system integration; ICD 503 (formerly NISCAP); risk management; intrusion detection; contingency planning; incident response; configuration control; change management; auditing; security authorization processes; and principles of cybersecurity (confidentiality, integrity, non-repudiation, availability, access control), along with security testing.
