Senior Vice President of Software Engineering in Generative AI

Your Role in Shaping Generative AI Software Engineering

In this role, you will either manage a team or serve as a Principal Software Engineer, concentrating on the design, development, and integration of Generative AI functionalities within AIG's extensive software offerings.

As a manager, you will oversee a medium-sized team (8+ FTEs/FTCs) of Software Engineers/Developers, guiding them through the Software Development Lifecycle. This includes designing, implementing, testing, and integrating applications or software in a DevOps and Agile environment. You may also lead a specialized team focused on one of the core SDLC phases (e.g., DevOps Practice Lead, Testing and Quality Assurance Lead, or Deployment and Release Management Lead).

As a Manager, you will possess advanced expertise in developing applications with highly scalable cloud solutions, utilizing modern concurrency principles, and programming languages relevant to AIG's core operations.

  • Oversee the daily operations of a medium-sized engineering team across multiple countries.
  • Lead initiatives centered around contemporary software design and development best practices.
  • Identify and address complex challenges and barriers affecting operations.
  • Utilize your specialized knowledge to creatively resolve ambiguous situations.
  • Employ expert analytical techniques in your area of specialization to inform decision-making.
  • Make decisions that may extend beyond your specialization and team.
  • Establish priorities and sequences of tasks to meet objectives with minimal oversight.
  • Provide technical mentorship to team members.
  • Facilitate the career development and growth of your team members.
Qualifications for Success
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or a proven track record in technology roles with requisite experience.
  • 15+ years of experience in the technology sector, including programming, design, and application delivery.
  • 10+ years in leadership roles within a technical environment.
  • Expertise in the Software Development Lifecycle, DevOps, and Agile methodologies.
  • Proficiency in a modern scripting language; mastery of contemporary web application frameworks; adeptness in querying relational and non-relational databases.
  • In-depth knowledge of modern product development processes and pipelines.
  • Skilled in effective troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques.
  • Competent in system monitoring and log analysis methodologies.
