Senior Vice President of Software Engineering in Generative AI

At American International Group (AIG), we are transforming the way we assist clients in managing risk. This role as a Senior Vice President of Software Engineering in Generative AI offers a unique opportunity to enhance your skills and contribute significantly to our mission.

Your Role in Shaping Generative AI Software Engineering

In this position, you will either manage a team or act as a Principal Software Engineer, concentrating on the design, development, and integration of Generative AI functionalities within AIG's extensive software offerings.

As a manager, you will oversee a medium-sized team (8+ FTEs/FTCs) of Software Engineers/Developers, guiding them through the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). This includes the design, implementation, testing, and integration of applications or software in a DevOps and Agile environment. You may also lead a specialized team focused on specific SDLC phases, such as DevOps, Testing and Quality Assurance, or Deployment and Release Management.

In your managerial capacity, you will possess advanced expertise in developing applications utilizing highly scalable cloud solutions, applying modern concurrency principles, and leveraging programming languages relevant to AIG's core operations.

  • Oversee daily operations of a medium-sized engineering team across various regions.
  • Drive initiatives surrounding contemporary software design and development practices.
  • Identify and resolve complex challenges and operational barriers.

  • Employ expert analytical techniques in your specialization to inform decision-making.
  • Establish priorities and task sequences to meet objectives with minimal oversight.
  • Provide technical mentorship to team members.

Qualifications for Success
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or a proven track record in technology roles with requisite experience.
  • 15+ years of experience in technology, programming, design, or application delivery.
  • 10+ years in leadership roles within technical domains.
  • Expertise in the Software Development Lifecycle, DevOps, and Agile methodologies.
  • Proficiency in a modern scripting language, web application frameworks, and database query writing.
  • Deep understanding of contemporary product development processes and pipelines.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving issues effectively.
  • Experienced in system monitoring and log analysis techniques.
