Role Summary:


The Aircraft Maintenance Specialist is tasked with the repair and upkeep of aircraft within the Maintenance & Engineering (M&E) division of Alaska Airlines (AS).

As a key contributor in the M&E division, this role encompasses all responsibilities related to the repair and maintenance of aircraft, including disassembly, repair, assembly, and installation of machinery and mechanical components.

This position is represented by a union.

Key Duties:
Conduct repairs and maintenance on aircraft, which includes disassembly, repair, assembly, and installation of machinery and mechanical components.

Perform all tasks in a timely manner, adhering to attendance and reliability standards.


Utilize the authority of an Airman (any gender) Certificate (Repairman (any gender) or Airframe and/or Powerplant) to sign off on maintenance documents or aircraft maintenance logs for airworthiness release or return to service, ensuring compliance with Alaska Airlines policies and procedures.


Act as cockpit coordinator, when designated, to ensure the safe operation of aircraft systems (e.g., flight controls, electrical systems, landing gear) from the flight deck.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills:
Required

Extensive knowledge of aircraft systems.

Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.

Ability to consistently lift up to 70 lbs.

Must be capable of bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, and grasping.

Familiarity with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and company protocols.

Possession of a valid Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license.

Must hold a valid and operational driver's license.

Willingness to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Effective communication skills in English.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum age requirement of 18.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

Two or more years of experience as an aircraft technician.

Two or more years of college education.

USD $42.35/Hr.
