Job Summary

The Boeing Company is seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Maintenance Specialist to join their team in San Antonio, Texas. As a General Aircraft Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repair tasks on various aircraft systems, including flight controls, landing gear, and engines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repair tasks on aircraft systems, including flight controls, landing gear, and engines.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, and process specifications to perform structural modification and repair.
  • Access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate online parts and discrepancy requests.
  • Maintain necessary certifications, licenses, and permits as required for assigned work.
  • Assist and train less senior employees and lead teams through complex aircraft-related tasks.
  • Prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects and ensure all equipment is used in accordance with established safety and operating procedures.
  • Diagnose and correct malfunctions occurring in assembly processes and use precision measuring instruments, gauges, and tools to check dimensions and conformance to quality requirements.
  • Work in confined spaces, lift loads of approximately 35 pounds, and ascend and descend vertical work ladders.
  • Work various shifts, including weekends and overtime, and be familiar with Hazardous Energy and Lock Out/Tag systems applications to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Assist other team members (Avionics, Structures, Electrics) to ensure cost and schedule targets are met.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Depot Level/Heavy General maintenance.
  • 3+ years of experience working various aircraft exterior and interior systems, including hydraulic, flight control, monuments, landing gears, fuel systems, and engines.
  • 3+ years of experience in working with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures.
  • Willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with F-15/Fighter or Depot Level/Modification maintenance.
  • Experience performing aircraft engine runs and engine borescope inspections.
  • Operate an aircraft tug/tow vehicle, forklift, mobile crane, and riding type electric powered elevating equipment to accomplish work assignments.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED and typically 5+ years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Relocation

This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
