Position Overview:
The Senior Aircraft Maintenance Technician (F-35 CDQAR/Airframes) is responsible for overseeing a skilled team in executing aircraft upkeep, evaluations, and both scheduled and unscheduled repairs. This role necessitates a wealth of technical expertise to guide junior mechanics and offer strategic direction on maintenance tasks pertaining to the F-35A/B/C.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team in conducting both scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with all aircraft low observable outer mold line structures, materials, and applications.
- Prepare surfaces for coating applications through various techniques including sanding, stripping, and masking.
- Mix and apply sealants and gap fillers, utilizing heating devices as necessary.
- Apply paints and coatings to meet specified consistency and application methods.
- Conduct component-level testing to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Diagnose malfunctions and perform maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, and adjustments on various aircraft systems.
- Utilize technical specifications, engineering instructions, and applicable publications to guide maintenance operations.
- Adhere to safety protocols including the Aircraft Confined Space Program and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Complete necessary training to maintain qualifications as a F-35 Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR).
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Preferred candidates will have a minimum of eight years of relevant experience with the USN/USMC/USAF in organizational level aircraft airframes and structural maintenance on the F-35 aircraft, holding a F-35 CDQAR/7 level Airframes designation. Candidates with less experience may be considered if they possess advanced qualifications specific to the F-35A/B/C.
Additional Requirements:
- Must provide documentation of prior qualification as an F-35 CDQAR Airframes/7 level (Mech III).
- Ability to travel occasionally and work flexible shifts.
- Must maintain a valid State Driver's License and U.S. citizenship for security clearance purposes.
Work Environment:
This position is primarily based in a workshop setting, with potential exposure to high noise areas and active aircraft operations. Physical demands include the ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive motions, and lift items weighing up to fifty pounds.
