Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Specialist to join our team at HealthEcareers - Client. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality and Safety
    • Ensure effective medication management and administration to patients, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
    • Delegate and supervise patient care activities within the healthcare setting, promoting a culture of safety and quality.
    • Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes effective team functioning.
    • Monitor and improve quality outcomes, identifying areas for process improvement and implementing changes as needed.
    • Recognize and resolve safety issues, adhering to approved policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Stewardship
    • Utilize equipment and supplies economically, demonstrating personal accountability and a commitment to resource stewardship.
    • Apply LEAN principles to reduce waste and improve processes, contributing to a more efficient and effective healthcare environment.
    • Optimize resource utilization, ensuring that patient care needs are met in a timely and effective manner.
    • Contribute to unit productivity by demonstrating good planning, organization, and time management skills.
    • Identify opportunities to reduce length of stay and prevent readmission, promoting a culture of excellence and quality.
  • Qualifications
    • Education
      • Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing.
      • Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN highly preferred.
    • Licensure
      • Current Florida RN licensure or endorsement.
    • Certification
      • AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card required; ACLS certification preferred.
      • Certification(s) as required by specific unit.
    • Experience
      • Must meet unit-specific care requirements.
    • Language
      • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
    Physical and Mental Demands
    • Physical Demands
      • Must have visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform clinical tasks.
      • Must have corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
      • Must be able to lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate patients/equipment up to 90% of the assigned shift.
      • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted up to 33% of the assigned shift.
      • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop up to 90% of assigned shift.
      • Potential for exposure to bio-hazardous waste and known or unknown diseases.
    • Mental Demands
      • Must have ability to work in often stressful environment with patients/families at various ages and levels of understanding.
      • Must have ability to concentrate on multiple priority activities.
      • Must have ability to respond appropriately to life-threatening situations.
      • Must have critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
