Position Overview:

The Intellectual Property Litigation Paralegal will play a crucial role in supporting the Firm's litigation efforts. This position involves managing various aspects of casework, including the organization of pleadings, correspondence, and documentation, as well as assisting in trial preparations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily case management and database organization; draft, review, and prepare legal documents; conduct thorough research and due diligence.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with current Firm technologies and filing procedures; provide training and support to new team members.
  • Monitor case dockets and ensure proper organization of filed documents.
  • Review materials for privilege and relevance; manage document numbering and maintain comprehensive sets of production and privilege documents.
  • Assist in the preparation of court filings and expert reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
  • Support attorneys in hearing preparations, including fact and expert witness deposition arrangements.
  • Coordinate trial preparations, including the organization of files, witness binders, and presentation materials. During trials, assist with document management and communication with court personnel.
  • Maintain accurate databases and indices, ensuring all materials are systematically organized.
  • Handle pretrial and trial projects, including the creation of exhibit lists and trial binders.
  • Utilize available training resources to enhance departmental knowledge.
  • Exhibit strong project management skills, meeting deadlines while collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Complete discovery tasks diligently, including document reviews and privilege logs, responding promptly to requests from senior paralegals and attorneys.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion of trial-related projects, maintaining high-quality standards under pressure.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience as an IP Paralegal, particularly with complex cases.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, electronic discovery tools, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and research skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with a diverse range of professionals.
  • Strong clerical skills and proficiency in relevant software applications.
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime as required.

Education:

  • BA/BS degree with a solid academic foundation.
  • Paralegal Certificate is preferred.
