Position Summary:

The Junior Loan Accounting Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering accounting services to both internal and external clients, focusing on loan management. This position involves analyzing requests and creating entries in the accounting system while adhering to established procedures and accounting standards.

Accuracy and exceptional service are paramount in this role, as well as serving as a resource for team members regarding accounting processes.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and generate accounting system entries using appropriate procedures for a range of transactions.
  • Monitor and address loan exceptions.
  • Provide technical assistance to team members and vendors concerning accounting functions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely resolution of issues, minimizing client concerns.
  • Verify transaction entries for accuracy within the accounting database.
  • Contribute to departmental resources on the company intranet.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience, ideally within the financial services sector.
  • Understanding of accounting principles.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and client service skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical abilities, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and related accounting software.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to achieve objectives.
  • Valid driver's license.
