Clark College is actively seeking candidates for the role of Adjunct Professor of Computer Technology.

This is an ongoing recruitment process where applications are accepted throughout the year. Candidates should be prepared to teach during daytime, evening, or weekend hours as needed.

Key Responsibilities

GENERAL FACULTY DUTIES:

  • Deliver instruction and facilitate assigned courses and labs aligned with established program and course objectives.
  • Implement effective assessment methods to evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Show respect and understanding towards all individuals.
  • Utilize diverse teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles.
  • Employ relevant technology for instruction and communication as appropriate.
  • Exhibit familiarity with the college's mission, student demographics, and educational objectives.
  • Uphold departmental curriculum standards.
  • Participate in required faculty meetings and departmental activities.
  • Engage in departmental and college committees to contribute to decision-making processes.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development.
  • Continuously seek to enhance teaching methodologies.
  • Collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse academic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Understand and align with the mission of Clark College.
Qualifications

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Associate's degree or higher.
  • Relevant industry certifications or the ability to obtain CompTIA and Microsoft certifications.
  • A minimum of two years of professional experience in IT or Computer Support, utilizing skills in areas such as Python, HTML/CSS, Web Design, JavaScript, C#, Microsoft SQL Server, Figma, PHP/MySQL, PowerShell, Microsoft Server Administration, Windows, Network Fundamentals, Security and Cybersecurity, Database Administration, User Experience, Web Content, Social Media, and Azure.
  • Ability to effectively engage with individuals of all ages from diverse academic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Previous teaching or training experience is preferred.
  • Strong teamwork capabilities.
  • Commitment to working with a diverse student population.
Additional Information

COMPENSATION: The hourly rate for lectures is $90.47, while the lab rate is $77.27.
