Description

Clark College is actively seeking applications for several part-time Biology Professor roles. Candidates should be prepared to teach in-person during daytime or evening hours. We are particularly interested in instructors capable of teaching courses such as Majors Cell/Molecular Biology, Majors Organismal Physiology, Microbiology, and/or General Biology. The compensation for lectures is $90.47 per hour, while lab instruction is compensated at $77.27 per hour.

This part-time role is part of an ongoing recruitment process, with applications accepted year-round. Candidates must be available for daytime, evening, or weekend teaching hours. Positions will be filled based on program requirements.

Position Responsibilities

GENERAL FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Deliver Biology instruction using effective teaching strategies that promote student engagement and learning.
  • Engage in departmental and college committees to contribute to decision-making processes.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Continuously seek to enhance teaching methodologies.
  • Collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Embrace and support the mission of Clark College.
  • Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback in a timely manner.
  • Work cooperatively with colleagues and participate in departmental activities that enrich the educational environment.
  • Utilize technology effectively for instruction and communication, including platforms like Canvas.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
  • Master's Degree in Biology or a closely related field with substantial graduate coursework in Biology.
  • Demonstrated teaching experience.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
