POSITION TITLE: Lead Financial Operations Manager

DEPARTMENT: Finance

REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt; Salary

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Lead Financial Operations Manager, under the guidance of the Chief Financial Officer, will oversee and direct the financial activities of the organization. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with accounting standards, state and federal regulations, and internal policies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervisory Duties:

  • Manages the daily functions of the Finance Department, including sales tracking, payable and receivable accounts, reconciliations, and payroll processing.
  • Identifies training requirements and oversees the development of training programs for staff.

Financial Management:

· Develops and maintains a comprehensive system of accounting policies and procedures to mitigate financial risks.

· Prepares journal entries and reconciles general ledger accounts, addressing discrepancies as necessary.

· Provides bookkeeping assistance for various revenue-generating departments.

· Collaborates with the Chief Financial Officer in preparing for audits and financial reporting.

· Assists in the monthly financial closing process and management reporting.

· Aids in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.

Administrative Oversight:

· Works closely with administrative personnel to ensure efficient office operations.

· Coordinates with program staff and grant writers to ensure adherence to grant requirements and legal obligations.

Human Resources Support:

· Assists the HR Director in managing employee onboarding and offboarding processes.

· Oversees benefits administration, ensuring accurate tracking and communication of employee benefits.

· Maintains compliance with laws and regulations related to human resources.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

· Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or finance.

· Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Accounting preferred.

· CMA certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

· Proficient in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

· Familiarity with HR regulations and compliance requirements.

· Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

· Experience with financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

· Primarily office-based work in a controlled environment.

· Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and perform various physical tasks as required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Performs other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization.
