Position Purpose:

The primary responsibility of this role is to facilitate and execute the repair, replacement, and fabrication of tooling and auxiliary press equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, clean, maintain, and repair injection and transfer molds, including performing insert changes as necessary.
  • Utilize manual mills and surface grinders to machine various mold components.
  • Oversee tool organization, including tracking and setting up molds.
  • Engage in weekly tooling status review meetings with the In-House Tool Maker team.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing, process engineering, automation, and maintenance teams.
  • Conduct inspections and repairs of molds as required.
  • Manage spare part components within the inventory system to ensure availability of critical components.
  • Contribute to design modifications and improvements on existing equipment to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Operate electronic and manual measuring equipment.
  • Utilize forklifts and hoisting equipment as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Educational Background:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a relevant technical role.
  • Preferred experience in injection molding and proficiency in operating injection mold presses, transfer presses, and associated secondary equipment.
  • Experience in mold building or as a tool maker is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is beneficial.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Skills:

  • CNC Machining experience is desirable.
  • Ability to set up tooling and workpieces.
  • Strong mathematical and reasoning abilities.
  • Experience with various inspection equipment and an understanding of close tolerance manufacturing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Language Proficiency:

  • Proficient in reading and writing in English.
  • Able to comprehend correspondence and make informed decisions based on the information.
  • Capable of drafting complex memorandums for communication purposes.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Skills:

  • Ability to apply common sense to execute detailed written or oral instructions.

Computer Skills:

  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to use hands for handling and reaching.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Regularly required to navigate steps between floors.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
