Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager I to join our team at SummitHR. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing project management activities for local bond measures, state matching funds, construction, and modernization projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and direct project management activities for multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including College user groups, District Facilities staff, and PMO staff, to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation plans.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, and develop risk mitigation plans.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Public Codes and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Program Management Office to report project performance and provide management reports.
  • Manage and coordinate the planning and design phase of projects, including coordination with contractors and vendors.
  • Close out and certify projects, including DSA closeout and PMO/District closeout.
  • Evaluate and assess change orders and professional services requests.
  • Track project status and provide management reports relative to overall program performance.

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience in management of multiple design and construction projects.
  • BA or BS in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
  • Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in Educational Facility Construction.
  • Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  • Knowledge of all parts of the project life cycle, including master planning, design, and closeout.
  • Experience in alternative delivery methods (Design-build, etc.).
  • Experience with using a web-based project management system such as Proliance.
  • Experience in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects and/or the Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS).
  • Experience in Formal Construction Partnering.
  • Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes or similar.
  • A valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California Architectural Board or Professional Engineer by the California State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
  • A valid Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI).
