Key Responsibilities:

- Gather reliable customer and territory data to assess individual customer potential.

- Perform competitive product analyses to identify strengths and weaknesses of current competitors, highlighting Sherwin-Williams' competitive advantages.

- Formulate strategies to enhance sales and profitability for key, potential, new, and existing clients. Identify customer needs throughout the sales process and develop solutions to effectively increase sales.

- Establish a consistent sales call schedule to meet customer needs and expectations.

- Acquire in-depth knowledge of all products within the Sherwin-Williams Automotive line, including their applications and preparation.

- Utilize our Customer Retention Management System (CRM) to document customer interactions and monitor the development of new accounts.

- Create daily and weekly pre-call strategies to ensure efficient time management.

- Conduct product demonstrations to support the marketing and sales of automotive refinishing products.

- Access product and technical information to assist customers with their application requirements.

- Identify opportunities to strengthen business relationships with customers.

- Maintain effective communication with the sales manager regarding market strategies and opportunities.

- Adhere to company safety protocols at all times.

- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

- Must be at least 18 years old.

- Must possess a valid driver's license.

- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status.

- Must be capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective interaction and influence.

- May work in environments where toxic, flammable, and hazardous materials are present.

Minimum Qualifications:

- High School Diploma or equivalent.

- A minimum of 2 years in a customer service-related role.

- At least 1 year of experience in a sales-related position.

- Willingness and ability to travel as necessary.

- Proven track record of effective management in expense control, sales management, and personnel direction.

- Proficient in operating a computer and using Microsoft Office products.

- Basic math skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Sales experience in coatings, automotive, or a related field is preferred.

- Outside sales experience is strongly preferred.

- Bachelor's Degree.

- Experience using a Customer Retention Management System (CRM) to log customer visits and track account progress.

- Previous experience conducting product demonstrations to support sales and marketing efforts.

- Proficiency in developing pre-call strategies to enhance time efficiency.

Travel Requirements:

  • 75% travel expected.
