Job Summary
ActiveProspect is in search of a driven and seasoned Senior Financial Consultant. In this role, you will collaborate closely with a Junior Financial Analyst and report directly to our Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), forming a cohesive team responsible for enhancing and expanding our financial planning, forecasting, and reporting capabilities within the Finance department overseen by the CFO.
You will serve as a reliable advisor to business leaders and executive team members, working collaboratively with various teams to support the company’s growth and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
+ Develop and refine financial models and forecasts, including the monthly operating model encompassing P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow projections.
+ Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with the Head of FP&A and CFO.
+ Work alongside budget owners from cross-functional teams to ensure thorough analysis of spending against the budget and provide analytical support for critical business decisions.
+ Collaborate with R&D teams to comprehend the capitalization of software versus budget and assist in evaluating our capacity for new development versus maintenance.
+ Support initiatives aimed at enhancing and scaling financial planning, forecasting, and reporting efforts, including the implementation of Abacum, a financial planning and analysis tool.
+ Assist the Head of FP&A in preparing and delivering monthly and quarterly financial packages, offering qualitative financial analysis around key performance indicators (KPIs) and assessing current and historical trends across all areas of revenue, cost of sales, and expenses.
+ Contribute to the preparation of materials for presentations to the Board of Directors, management, and internal meetings, while providing ad hoc support for the CFO and other leaders.
+ Develop financial models to support strategic initiatives, including potential mergers and acquisitions.
+ Identify opportunities for automation and process enhancement within business and financial processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement these improvements.
Qualifications and Skills
+ A minimum of 5 years of professional experience focusing on financial planning & analysis, preferably within a top technology or SaaS organization, managing comprehensive P&L.
+ Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, with the capability to construct financial models from the ground up.
+ Prior experience executing queries in business intelligence tools.
+ Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex processes or models in a clear and digestible manner to senior stakeholders.
+ Strong attention to detail with the capacity to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
+ Ability to independently complete assignments with minimal oversight.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline. An advanced degree in business or finance, along with CFA or CPA certification, is preferred.
+ Experience with NetSuite saved search and reporting.
