Job Overview

Position Title: Healthcare Finance Consultant

Summary: The Healthcare Finance Consultant will deliver specialized financial expertise to healthcare entities, enhancing their fiscal performance, optimizing resource distribution, and ensuring adherence to relevant regulations. This role involves scrutinizing financial data, formulating strategic advice, and executing solutions that promote financial stability and operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Evaluation: Perform comprehensive financial evaluations, encompassing budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Detect trends, discrepancies, and areas for enhancement in financial outcomes.
  • Expense Management: Assess cost frameworks and pinpoint opportunities for cost efficiency and reduction. Formulate strategies to manage expenditures and maximize resource use.
  • Revenue Management: Review and refine revenue management processes, including billing, collections, and claims oversight. Deploy strategies to boost revenue capture and minimize accounts receivable duration.
  • Financial Strategy Development: Aid clients in crafting and executing financial strategies that align with their organizational objectives. Provide assistance in financial planning and analysis, including capital budgeting and investment evaluations.
  • Compliance Assurance: Guarantee adherence to financial regulations and standards pertinent to healthcare organizations. Support audits, financial disclosures, and regulatory filings.
  • Performance Monitoring: Create and oversee financial performance indicators and metrics. Offer insights and recommendations derived from financial data to facilitate strategic decision-making.
  • Technology Integration: Advise on and assist with the integration of financial management technologies, such as financial management systems and electronic health record systems with financial components. Ensure effective technology utilization to enhance financial processes.
  • Operational Enhancement: Partner with healthcare management to bolster operational efficiency and financial effectiveness. Implement process enhancements and best practices to improve financial outcomes and operational results.
  • Training & Development: Deliver training and support to finance teams regarding financial best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory obligations. Promote a culture of financial literacy and ongoing improvement within the organization.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Articulate financial insights, recommendations, and reports to senior leadership and other stakeholders. Facilitate discussions on financial strategies and performance with key decision-makers.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Credentials: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MHA) or relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA) preferred.
  • Professional Experience: 4-6 years of experience in healthcare finance consulting, financial management, or a related capacity.
  • Core Competencies: Strong grasp of healthcare finance, cost management, revenue cycle oversight, and regulatory compliance. Proficient in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, capable of presenting complex financial information and recommendations clearly to clients and stakeholders.
  • Analytical Skills: Advanced analytical capabilities with the proficiency to evaluate financial data, identify trends, and deliver actionable insights and strategies for enhancement.
  • Project Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage finance-related projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams and achieving results within set timelines.
