Role Overview
The Texana Center is seeking a dedicated Residential Trainer to join their team. As a Residential Trainer, you will work directly with children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities and problem behaviors.
You will be responsible for implementing behavior analysis programs, providing supervision, and creating a safe and pleasant environment for the individuals. Additionally, you will assist in transitioning persons served to discharge placements and participate in emergency events to ensure the operations of the center continue.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement behavior analysis programs as directed
- Provide frequent positive interactions with individuals
- Conduct social skills educational, recreational, and vocational training
- Assist in transitioning persons served to discharge placements
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Valid Texas Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities who display aggressive and self-injurious behaviors
- Ability to work patiently and effectively with persons who exhibit challenging behaviors
Job Related Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform SAMA and CPR
- Must be able to perform light (15lb) pushing, stooping, light carrying (15lb), repeated bending, reaching above shoulder, simple grasping, hearing, walking, and sitting
Salary and Benefits
