Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience, along with $500 bonus after 6 months and $1,000 bonus after 1 year

Role Summary:

The Research Scientist within the Research and Development Department will play a crucial role in the creation, refinement, and introduction of innovative blood and cell culture supplementation products, as well as the development of testing protocols to support these initiatives.

Additionally, the Research Scientist will execute and enhance vital laboratory procedures to fulfill tailored client requests and achieve research objectives. This role involves collaboration with the Research and Development Director and coordination with other team members across various departments. The scientist will also be responsible for training new personnel in established processes and overseeing technical staff. Reporting directly to the Director of Research and Development, the Research Scientist will be integral to the team.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • PhD in a relevant biological science or medical research field is required.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a biomedical research laboratory, preferably in immunology or immuno-oncology.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, goal-oriented environment.
  • Proficient in managing multiple projects and adapting swiftly to changing departmental and organizational priorities.
  • Hands-on experience with PBMC isolation, human primary T cell culture and expansion, ELISA, and flow cytometry.
  • Familiarity with human blood, blood products, samples, and tissue handling.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Self-driven and reliable.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Good manual dexterity.
  • Proficient in computer applications and Windows software.
  • Knowledgeable in cell therapy, including CAR and TILs.
  • Able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive data and test results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and development activities for new blood and culture support products, including troubleshooting and optimizing manufacturing processes.
  • Design and refine testing procedures necessary for the development and release of new blood and cell culture support products.
  • Review scientific literature and other resources to aid in the development of innovative products and techniques.
  • Perform fundamental laboratory techniques and procedures to manufacture and evaluate products for research and cell therapy clients.
  • Develop and enhance new laboratory procedures to meet R&D client product requests.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness within the R&D laboratory.
  • Collaborate with R&D staff to manage supply inventory and procure necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Supervise new laboratory personnel, including students, interns, and volunteers, as needed.
  • Conduct data analysis and tracking to support departmental objectives and client inquiries.
  • Regularly update and consult with department leadership regarding ongoing projects.
  • Assist with research initiatives for the R&D department and its clients.
  • Serve as the principal investigator for assigned projects.
  • Prepare grant proposals and abstracts.
  • Create package inserts and certificates of analysis for new products.
