Construction Cost Analyst
COMPANY:Caliber Construction, a leading firm in the construction industry, focusing on commercial renovation projects.
JOB DESCRIPTIONSUMMARY: Develop preliminary budgets and cost estimates for fixed price, maximum price guarantees, and design-build contracts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Examine bid documents and architectural plans, assess bidding criteria, and contribute to bid strategy formulation.
- Oversee bid submissions, organize necessary documentation, and compile comprehensive bids.
- Generate a list of subcontractor invitations and coordinate site visits.
- Conduct quantity takeoffs and prepare detailed scopes of work for various trades.
- Respond to RFI inquiries, draft precise proposal letters, and establish project timelines.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently and evaluate subcontractor bids effectively.
- Conduct project reviews with project managers after successful bid awards.
- Support field operations teams with project coordination related to estimates.
- Travel locally for pre-bid discussions and site evaluations as required.
- Experience in estimating for a general contractor or subcontractor.
- Familiarity with estimating methodologies and construction trades.
- Proficient in analyzing subcontractor bids and possessing strong communication skills.
- Proficient in computer applications including MS Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook.
- Able to manage multiple projects with effective time management and collaboration skills.
- Strong communication abilities, professional demeanor, and capacity to engage with diverse groups.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, blueprints, and specifications.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure.
- Ability to stand and sit throughout the workday, handle documents, and perform tasks such as reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching as needed.
- Effective oral communication skills and capability to lift items up to 25 pounds.
- Competence in reviewing written materials and utilizing computer systems.
