As a Lead Claims Analyst, you will be responsible for investigating and resolving complex, high-value claims efficiently and fairly with minimal oversight. You will operate within established guidelines on moderate to challenging claims, reviewing coverage details, determining liability and compensability, gathering necessary information, coordinating property damage assessments, and settling claims using best practices in the industry. You will also evaluate and establish reserves based on your independent judgment and assist supervisors and legal representatives in preparing cases for litigation. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in training and mentoring new team members.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Utilize independent judgment to interpret and make decisions on intricate and atypical policy coverages, assessing their applicability to submitted claims.
  • Oversee all investigative activities related to complex claims, guiding the discovery and litigation strategies in collaboration with legal counsel.
  • Analyze claims data and generate reports for clients, carriers, and management.
  • Establish reserves using your expertise and authorize payments within your authority, ensuring claims are settled in a cost-effective manner with timely disbursements.
  • Resolve claims promptly and fairly, issuing company drafts for claims payments within your authority limits.
  • Identify subrogation and third-party recovery opportunities and adhere to reclaim procedures.
  • Prepare analytical reports on claims activities for clients, carriers, and management, and participate in claims reviews.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • A Workers Compensation (WC) Adjuster License is mandatory based on jurisdictional requirements.
  • 4-8 years of technical claims investigation and settlement experience in a similar organization.
  • Ability to work autonomously while assimilating various technical subjects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to engage with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • IIA, AIC, AEI, and/or CPCU designations.
