Medical Office Support Specialist

About the Job
InGenesis seeks a skilled Medical Office Support Specialist to work with our client. This role involves providing exceptional customer service to patients and assisting with appointment reminder calls, rescheduling appointments, and scheduling lab result appointments.
Responsibilities- Support patient registration clerks with patient issues, coordinate break and lunch coverage, and monitor patient flow.
- Provide department orientations and assist in training new team members.
- Work with providers to resolve late patient arrivals issues and reschedule patients for same-day appointments whenever possible.
- Create weekly staff schedules for approval by the supervisor.
- Assist with inventory and supply ordering, reporting, and special projects.
- Register patients for appointments, give appropriate forms, certify eligibility, and open medical encounters.
- Confirm and update patient demographics in the medical information system.
- Verify current program eligibility, calculate charges, and collect patient payments.
- Assist patients with appointment scheduling, information requests, and provide resource materials.
- Perform phone receptionist duties as needed.
- Perform clerical tasks, including maintaining workstation materials and supplies, mailings, and other services.
To succeed in this role, you must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least six months of customer service experience in a medical office setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is also required.
CompensationThe estimated salary for this position is $40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
