Job Overview

MWH Constructors is seeking a Senior Construction Project Leader to oversee a significant large-diameter water pipeline initiative. This project is integral to enhancing water supply capabilities and aims to deliver essential resources to the community. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a transformative infrastructure endeavor, guiding it from inception through to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategically plan, organize, and staff essential field roles or subordinate project leaders, ensuring alignment with operational departments.
  • Define project goals, policies, procedures, and performance benchmarks in accordance with corporate guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain communication with primary clients and architectural/engineering contacts to facilitate preconstruction and construction phases.
  • Oversee construction activities through administrative guidance of on-site managers to ensure adherence to schedules and budgets; address significant issues and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Represent the company in project discussions and assist in labor negotiations and strategic meetings.
  • Manage financial components of contracts, including fee payments and expenses, to safeguard the company's interests while fostering positive client relationships.
  • Collaborate with project team members to finalize the Management Administration Plan prior to commencing field operations, utilizing provided planning tools and guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies among direct reports during project execution.
  • Promote a culture of safety and well-being for all employees by adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to project engineers and field personnel.
  • Oversee procurement processes through Purchase Agreements and Contracts.
  • Support Change Management, Cost Estimation, revenue forecasting, and scheduling activities.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the Regional Director.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of experience and training; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant management experience, demonstrating successful performance on complex projects typically exceeding $100M.
  • Specialized experience in pipeline projects is essential.
  • At least 5 years of management experience with profit and loss accountability on assigned projects.
  • Ability to implement innovative management strategies to enhance team performance.
  • Comprehensive understanding of corporate and industry standards and their implications on project execution.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are crucial.
  • Safety-focused, with OSHA training preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and proven judgment in decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with large-scale pipeline projects is highly desirable.
  • Experience with tunneling projects is advantageous.
