The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are expanding our Energy division and looking for a Project Construction Leader . This position will provide oversight, guidance, and support for all projects in the designated area, assisting Project Managers. You will collaborate with Project Managers, Development and Design Teams, and other project groups to identify, mitigate, and report risks as necessary. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with both Internal and External Teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinating with project Subcontractors.
  • Managing Project Financials.
  • Handling Pre-Construction Duties.
  • Reviewing Project Budgets and scopes.
  • Promoting Safety, Standards, and training while ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Taking financial responsibility for projects, including accurate and timely reporting to stakeholders.
  • Monitoring, controlling, and reporting on project financial performance.
  • Preparing monthly project accounting reviews.
  • Drafting or overseeing subcontracts and purchase agreements.
  • Generating preliminary assessments, technical solutions, fee proposals, presentations, studies, and general support.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

  • A Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software, preferably MS Projects.
  • OSHA 30 certification; PE, CPM, and LEED professional designations are preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of the MS Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint.
  • Understanding of construction management, commercial building processes, and financial principles, along with basic estimating skills.
  • RCDD and CPM professional designations are preferred.
  • Proficiency in construction financial software.
  • A solid understanding of accounting and financial management is preferred.
  • Knowledge of labor relations fundamentals, including union contract requirements and hiring practices.
  • A minimum of 8 years of construction-related experience.
  • Team-building skills to recruit, coach, and mentor effectively.
  • Development skills for project staffing plans.
  • Forecasting abilities for project management labor needs.
