Role Overview:
We are in search of a Construction Project Manager for our Fairbanks, Alaska office, requiring a minimum of 6 years of experience within the construction sector. The ideal candidate will be a well-connected Project Manager adept at managing multiple intricate construction initiatives from the preconstruction phase through to warranty within the Alaskan construction landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities associated with this position encompass, but are not limited to:
Oversee various design and construction projects on behalf of Owners, which may include new building developments, renovations, tenant improvements, and utility projects. Prepare and manage the solicitation and selection processes for relevant project vendors, suppliers, and General Contractors. Supervise and guide the project design process to ensure that the Owners' requirements are fulfilled within the established budget and timeline. This includes aiding in the development of the building program, facilitating design meetings, monitoring design progress, and preparing written feedback during submittal phases. Lead and organize pre-construction meetings, engage in weekly construction discussions, conduct site visits to monitor progress, process ASIs/RFIs, review Contractor and A/E payment applications, negotiate change orders, and prepare monthly project status reports. Provide on-site construction quality assurance as necessary to confirm that the project adheres to design specifications. Assess contractor-submitted schedules, provide updates to the Owner regarding construction progress, and recommend corrective actions to address any critical path schedule delays. Deliver monthly budget reports that document completion status and progress, establishing and maintaining cost baselines for trend measurement and forecasting. Actively contribute as a positive team member, fostering strong relationships within both internal and external teams.Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 6 years of experience in the construction industry, including at least 4 years in managing small to medium-sized projects. Experience in healthcare projects is preferred. Capability to manage multiple projects in the Fairbanks, Alaska area, with rural Alaska project experience being an asset. Professional accreditation in a relevant field (Construction Management, Certified Construction Administrator, Certified Construction Manager) or equivalent project experience. Strong technical proficiency with project management software. Ability to gain access to U.S. Military Installations. A commitment to health and safety standards. Possession of a valid driver's license.
