Position Responsibilities
This position is an entry-level role within the professional engineering series. The Assistant Engineer will provide essential technical and managerial support for the execution of the City’s Capital Improvement Program, focusing on core infrastructure projects such as sewers, storm drains, roads, and public buildings.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Preparing reports and presentations for management and public stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited program is required.
Experience: One year of professional engineering experience is preferred, ideally in a public agency context.
Licenses: A valid California Driver's License is required.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with public works project management and construction methods.
  • Proficiency in modern office technology and engineering software.
