Program Analyst in Biomedical Informatics

Position Overview:

Role Summary

We are in search of a motivated, adaptable, and detail-oriented Program Analyst to contribute to our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate communication with various U.S. Government agencies, including HHS and CDC, to coordinate support for international assignments and programmatic tasks.
  • Draft clear and concise communications tailored to external organizations regarding NIH staff activities.
  • Analyze and interpret policy documents related to overseas workforce initiatives to create supporting documentation for NIH.
  • Assist in the preparation and evaluation of statements of work, proposals, and other documentation for management's procurement processes.
  • Maintain and develop administrative databases and spreadsheets associated with program, project, and personnel activities.
  • Collect and assess information regarding budgets, processes, and programs; generate comprehensive reports, letters, and background papers for program reviews.
  • Prepare briefing materials and position papers for senior NIH officials.
  • Help establish guidelines and procedures for monitoring international program activities.
  • Support the modification and updating of standard operating procedures and correspondence management.
  • Coordinate meetings and workshops as necessary.
  • Represent the office in discussions with NIH and HHS regarding administrative, technical, and budgetary matters related to international programs.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of research collaboration agreements with external and foreign institutions to support NIH research objectives.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a BS degree is required; an MS or MBA is preferred.
  • Experience with inter-agency interactions is advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze program/project policy documents is essential.
  • Detail-oriented with the capability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Familiarity with NIH and U.S. Government-supported biomedical research is highly desirable.
