Aircraft Avionics Technician

Job Summary
The Aircraft Avionics Technician will maintain and troubleshoot malfunctions on the MH-47G SOF peculiar aircraft, focusing on avionics systems, sub-systems, communications, navigation systems, weapons, aircraft survivability equipment, and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Repair and replace aircraft wiring, and troubleshoot aircraft electrical systems as needed or instructed in the IETM (Interactive Electronic Technical Manual).
- Use a multi-meter and other standard avionic test sets to maintain and troubleshoot aircraft systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and methods of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
- Work independently during travel and at home station to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
- Perform administrative actions related to aircraft forms and records on systems used by the organization.
Requirements
- 6+ years' experience in Army aviation.
- Ability to travel 1-2 weeks at a time and complete TDY assignments.
- Ability to make sound decisions when troubleshooting and maintaining avionics systems.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret schematics and IETMs.
- Maintain aircraft logbook forms and records.
- Experience using multimeters and other applicable tools.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOD Secret clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
