Job Title: Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Union County Community Action. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education and care to young children in our Head Start program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development in young children.
  • Establish a safe and nurturing learning environment that fosters a sense of community and respect among children, families, and staff.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement curriculum that meets the diverse needs of children and families.
  • Assess and document children's progress, identifying areas of strength and need, and developing strategies to support their growth.
  • Communicate effectively with families, providing regular updates on their child's progress and involving them in the educational process.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices in early childhood education and to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience working with young children in a educational setting.
  • North Carolina State BK-Teacher's Certification.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and to communicate effectively with families and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.

The position involves working with young children, families, and colleagues, and requires strong communication and interpersonal skills.
