We are seeking a qualified Preschool Teacher to join our team at Union County Community Action, Inc. (UCCA). As a Preschool Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing a high-quality learning environment for young children, promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Job Summary:The Preschool Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing daily programs and activities for children, assessing their progress, and maintaining accurate records. You will work closely with Assistant Teachers and other staff members to ensure a smooth and effective learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and implement daily programs and activities for children, including lesson plans and educational materials.
- Assess children's progress and maintain accurate records, including cumulative classroom records and Point of Service BLS forms.
- Work closely with Assistant Teachers and other staff members to ensure a smooth and effective learning environment.
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children, including supervising them during mealtime and outdoor activities.
- Participate in staff development activities and educational opportunities for staff and parents.
- Associate's degree in Early Child Development or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, and six months to one year related experience and/or training.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before groups.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
The Preschool Teacher will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interactions with children, parents, and staff members. The physical demands of the job include standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The work environment is moderate, with occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.
