Position Overview:
We are seeking a Finance Operations Manager to become an integral part of our team. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role encompasses a variety of financial responsibilities, ensuring precise financial reporting, adherence to regulations, and offering insightful analysis to facilitate informed business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, analyze, and present comprehensive financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Monitor actual financial performance against established budgets, analyze discrepancies, and provide strategic insights to management.
  • Guarantee accuracy, completeness, and compliance with financial standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Execute month-end closing activities, including balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, and expense accruals.
  • Record financial transactions with precision and timeliness.
  • Reconcile accounts, resolve discrepancies, and uphold the integrity of the general ledger.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather necessary information and documentation.
  • Assist in the formulation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Oversee accounts payable processes, including the review and processing of vendor invoices, statement reconciliations, and ensuring timely payments.
  • Manage accounts receivable functions, monitor customer balances, and support collection efforts.
  • Review corporate credit card statements, ensuring proper documentation is received and transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue enhancement.
  • Support tax-related activities, including tax return preparation, audit assistance, and compliance with applicable tax laws.
  • Stay informed on changes in tax legislation and advise on potential organizational impacts.
  • Participate in the design, implementation, and monitoring of internal control procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, safeguarding company assets and mitigating financial risks.
  • Identify control weaknesses and recommend improvements.
  • Coordinate and prepare audit schedules, supporting documentation, and financial information for internal and external audits.
  • Engage with auditors during the audit process, addressing inquiries and assisting in the implementation of recommended changes.
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis, assess financial performance, and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Prepare reports, forecasts, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Continuously evaluate accounting processes, identifying opportunities for streamlining and implementing enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the business to align with organizational objectives.
  • Maintain strong relationships across the organization to foster collaboration.
  • Model ethical standards, professionalism, and adherence to the code of conduct.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA designation preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in corporate accounting or finance, including financial statement preparation.
  • Experience with month-end close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and expense accruals.
  • Proven track record in preparing annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Prior experience managing accounts receivable and payable functions.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining financial models.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership role managing teams.
  • Familiarity with the mortgage industry is preferred.
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar software is advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships across the organization.
