Role Overview: Vice President of Finance and Accounting

In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Business Unit President and the Chief Financial Officer, playing a crucial part in the senior management team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing financial management strategies that align with the organization's goals.
  • Implementing comprehensive financial policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Leading general accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting initiatives.
  • Driving process improvements and establishing best practices.
  • Managing audits and assessing financial risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a strategic partner within the Business Unit leadership team, contributing to key discussions and setting priorities.
  • Identify and analyze key financial performance indicators, providing insights to enhance decision-making.
  • Evaluate financial data to uncover trends and themes, presenting findings to the leadership team.
  • Explore opportunities for profitability enhancement and present actionable recommendations.
  • Engage in strategic planning activities, collaborating with senior management on key initiatives.
  • Oversee finance and accounting functions, guiding the Director of Accounting and finance personnel.
  • Establish and refine Finance & Accounting policies, focusing on continuous improvement.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting efforts, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with IT on finance and accounting software enhancements.
  • Coordinate with other business units to share best practices and improve processes.
  • Work with the Corporate Director of Tax on tax accounting functions and audits.
  • Develop and implement a Financial Risk Management strategy.
  • Manage financial analysis and reporting, providing insights into performance against budgets and forecasts.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration or Finance is highly preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Experience with large-scale ERP systems, preferably Intacct.
  • Familiarity with financial planning software, ideally Adaptive.
  • Proven track record in analyzing business performance and investment decisions.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, particularly in the vehicle rental and leasing sectors.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on financial performance and organizational growth.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to lead negotiations and present to senior executives effectively.
  • Hands-on approach with attention to detail and a commitment to driving projects to completion.
  • Strong leadership capabilities to inspire and develop high-performing teams.

Working Environment:

This position is based in a professional office setting and may require travel. Flexibility for remote work is available, allowing for a balanced work-life integration.
